Happy Birthday, Bryce!

Posted December 9th, 2007 by Rachel

Today is my nephew’s birthday. He is six years old. His mom has a party planned and my mom, his Grandma, is coming along with my brother, his uncle. So I hope he has a very wonderful day!

It’s hard to believe he’s so old. I remember when his mom was expecting him and now he’s six. And in kindergarten and doing quite well. He’s a little boy now. It’s hard to believe.

Here’s a silly poem for him in honor of this day (I know it’s bad poetry–deal):

Happy Birthday to Bryce

He’s smarter than Douglas Adams’ mice

His aunt is not a poet

And he can tell by reading this poem.

Bryce will probably say “Huh?” but his parents should get a kick out of it. And explain it to him. (If you don’t understand the reference, just substitute “a bunch of mice”–it works, just not as well). Of course, his aunt thinks his parents have nothing better to do than to Explain the World to their son. She’s right, right?

So, Happy Birthday, Bryce.

Love from your Aunt Rachel

aw… did you tell him the poem over the phone? I was buried in work somewhere so didn’t know.

your mom said you were upset that you weren’t getting comments. I told her I was going to come on here and just write ‘comment’ on every entry. :)

Sent Jeff to the PO today with your box, with all the parts it needed and slipped in pictures of the boys. Hopefully the base will ship it.

Oh, and hopefully Jeff will get a chance to go to the PO at all. He was sick for 2 days thanks to Nathan and has a ton of catch up to do. It might be closed by the time he leaves work, if not, tomorrow.

    Rachel,

Timothy got lots and lots of snow for his birthday. Dad and I were supposed to go over and take him out to lunch for his birthday but there was toooooo much snow (8 inches) with lots of drifting.

I have a question for you. I want to make you and Jeremy a set of monogramed towels for Christmas. What colors would you like? I was going to make Red, White and Blue but thought maybe you would want different colors as you will not be in the Navy the rest of your whole life. The towels are white so any colors you want would work. Just let me know so I can get them in the mail for you.

I’m sorry to hear that Jeremy is gone for so long a time away from you. At least you have your own apartment to come home to and are not stuck on board ship in a tiny bunk like before. You will have all kinds of free time to finish your story now.

I love you and will wait to hear from you. Mom

“Stuck on board ship?” That’s me, but I don’t mind as bad. “Not in the Navy the rest of your life.” Well, I did reenlist. :-) Anyway, Rachel & I like purple, but you and her can talk more about that. Thanks for thinking about us!
