Advent Calendar 4.4

Week Four: Love: Day Four

I really like this song.  It’s solemn but beautiful.  I think it’s very appropriate for this Christmas Eve.  And as it’s about night and this is Christmas Eve, I decided to wait until evening to post it.  This song reminds us that while we are waiting for Christmas and it’s almost over, in the midst of our joy and celebrating, we should take the time to be solemn and worship the One whom this holiday was created to honor.

Thank you, Jesus, for your redeeming grace.  Thank you for being that baby in the manger.  Thank you for Christmas.

Luke 2:15-16

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”  And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
‘Round yon virgin mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heav’nly hosts sing Alleluia;
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.
